Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finish is part of the renowned Noble Collection by the Canadian brand Crown Royal
In the year of 2016, the Canadian whisky brand Crown Royal first introduced its Noble Collection by releasing its Cornerstone Blend as the first creation of the series. That series was continued with the release of Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finish in the spring of 2017. Just like its predecessor, the drink embodies the Crown Royal team’s sense of creativity and innovation.
The whisky gains its beautiful colour as well as its aromas from a special cask maturation
The brand’s original whisky, the so-called Fine De Luxe, is the basis of Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finish. It spends six months in medium toast American oak barrels, which had been freshly emptied after being used for Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The barrels originate from the Californian region of Paso Robles. Through this process, the drink gains an almost ruby colouring as well as rich aromas. Several experiments were necessary to find the right way of maturation for a whisky as fabulous as this.
The drink lures you in with nuances of caramel, vanilla, spices, butterscotch and red grapes. The finish is lavishly long with interesting hints of cloves and star anise.
Another wonderful creation from the house that is home to one of the best whiskies in the world
Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finish once again proves the craftiness of the Canadian brand that has already led to several unique creations. In the 2016 edition of his “Whisky Bible”, the English critic Jim Murray crowned the Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye as the best whisky in the world. Fans of the brand of course were not surprised, and the rest of the world was made aware of a very special drink. Maybe the Wine Barrel Finish will soon follow suit?
