Crystal Head Vodka was conceived of by Hollywood legend Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander in 2007. The glass skull bottle, designed by Alexander, is made by Bruni Glass in Milan, Italy and is based on the pair’s fascination with the myth of the thirteen Crystal Skulls. It is the iconic bottle design which the brand is most widely recognised for, but the vodka inside is something equally as special and remarkable.

Crystal Head Vodka is quadruple-distilled and triple crystal filtered through diamonds

Corn of the highest quality and water of the highest purity from Newfoundland, Canada are used to make Crystal Head Vodka. Aykroyd wanted to find a vodka that was additive free and after failing to find one on the market, created his own. After a quadruple-distillation process, Crystal Head Vodka is then seven times filtered, with the final three filtrations being crystal, done through Herkimer diamonds, which are semi-precious crystals.

It is not surprising that this vodka brand is award-winning. After its introduction to the market, it didn’t take long for the new brand to be recognized for its quality. Crystal Head Vodka was named a “Rising Star” by the Beverage Information Group for its great performance in its first 18 months. It sold one-million bottles sold faster than Belvedere and Grey Goose. In March 2011, Crystal Head Vodka also won the Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A massive achievement for such a new brand.
