For quite a few years, there has been a tradition in Lynchburg, Tennessee to mature one part of the distilled whiskey for a longer time and in a slightly different way. In order to do so, the distillers use a special procedure, which is called the Lincoln County method. Here, the whiskey is first filtered through maple charcoal and then put into barrels for twice as much time as Jack Daniel’s original Tennessee Whiskey. The result is called Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey!
Its golden brown colour alone calls for a full-scale tasting. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey smells seductively sweet of fruit, herbs and even a hint of vegetables. On the palate, you will be met with aromas of vanilla, spices and oak. The finish can only be described as extensive and soft. No whiskey lover should skip this jewel by Jack Daniel’s!
