Because this Jack Daniel’s has never seen an oak barrel from the inside, you may not call it a whisky in the strict sense. But this should not keep you away from trying it either.
It all started with the revolutionary act of changing the traditional Jack Daniel’s grain recipe in order to raise the percentage of rye by 70%. Making rye the lead grain was certainly a good idea, because it made the outcome taste exceptionally unique.
With fruity notes and the sweetness of honey in its nose, it tastes like raspberries, dried cherries, and rye. On the palate it has a fruity taste again, before strong notes of rye take the sweetness over. With hints of different spices the taste is round and satisfying. Mild aroma leads to a rather dry finish that leaves you with a mellow taste of this Unaged Rye. If you have always desired to taste the whisky like one of the “master tasters” at the distillery or if you are just a whisky enthusiast, you will most certainly enjoy the raw nature of this Unaged Rye.
In its traditional design, this Unaged Rye is totally new to the European market – good to know that you can buy your bottle of this New Make at our shop on Urban Drinks now!
