Johnnie Walker Select Casks Rye Cask Finish 10 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky 0.7L (46% Vol.)

This Scotch Whisky blend is a showcase for the best of the Scottish whisky blending tradition. The heart of the blend is Cardhu single malt, to which grain whiskies which have been matured for at least ten years are added. Like other whiskies in Johnnie Walker’s Select Cask Finish series, this whisky is finished in ex-rye whisky casks, which impart a rich flavour of creamy vanilla and a spicy finish.

The whisky is a rich gold colour, with a hefty dark oak presence on the nose and notes of baked apple, caramel, and spice. The flavours are of malt, vanilla, and honey, which complement the rye notes. With a boosted abv of 46% (compared to the typical 40% abv for other Johnnie Walker releases), this whisky has a full, solid body which supports the spicy flavours beautifully. This bold and unusual whisky with its big flavours is great for sipping neat, or for bringing a special kick to cocktails like an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan.
