Smell and taste

This Laurent-Perrier Champagne (12%) reveals a complex aroma of wild strawberries and redcurrant jam on the nose. These are followed by notes of candied citrus fruits. On the palate, the Rosé Cuvee shows a fine soft texture as well as dry and with mineral acidity. The finish also hints at red fruits.

Production

For this rare vintage sparkling wine, the individual components must be outstanding: the berries, the acidity, the sugar concentration and their development. 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay are used. To create the Cuvée Alexandra Rosé, the crus of Pinot Noir and Chardonay must be ripe at the same time. Only the best Grand Crus of the two grape varieties are selected for the assemblage.
The 2004 wine year was initially notable for numerous hailstorms and rain showers in spring and summer. But a warm and dry September allowed for a rich harvest and intense ripeness for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Champagne Alexandra Rosé matures in bottles in the cellar for at least 10 years. Enjoy it at 10 to 12 degrees with seafood, truffles and other exquisite dishes.
