Smell and taste
This vintage sparkling wine presents a complex nose with notes of wild strawberries and redcurrant jam, followed by notes of candied citrus fruits. This elegant sparkling wine is fine and mineral on the palate. It has a soft and dry texture. Its finish is marked by red fruits.
Production
This prestigious vintage rosé is very rare. All the individual components must be of outstanding quality for its creation: the berries, the acidity, the development and the sugar concentration. For his assemblage, only the best plots of the Grand Crus of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were selected according to strict guidelines. The Cuvée Alexandra Rosé is made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. In order to create this vintage rosé, the crus of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay must be ripe at the same time.
The 2004 wine year was able to provide a good harvest and intensive ripening of the grapes despite a spring and summer full of rain and hail, with a dry and warm September. The Alexander Rosé is aged for at least 10 years. Its ideal serving temperature is 10 to 12 degrees.
Laurent-Perrier
The house of Laurent-Perrier is one of the most famous sparkling wine producers from the Champagne region in France. The Laurent-Perrier style was developed by Bernard Nonancourt, one of the most important Champagne players of the 1950s. His aim was to add an elegant aperitif mood to the champagnes of the house of Laurent-Perrier. To achieve this, he steadily increased the proportion of Chardonnay in them.
This is why you can still recognise a Laurent-Perrier champagne by its complex character: citrus fruits, aromas of white fruits, plus notes of toast and cake.
