Smell and taste
The yellowish-golden and finely bubbly champagne (12% vol.) from the traditional French house comes across as young and fruity, yet rich and complex: apple compote and lemon peel provide the slightly acidic fruitiness, which is joined by brioche. These components provide quite a pronounced acidity and a wonderful depth that make this noble sparkling wine taste elegant and full-bodied. The finish is characterised by biscuit and pastry, leading into a medium-long aftertaste dominated by citrus fruits and a hint of spice, together with bitter almonds and summer flowers.

This Brut Champagne from 2012, a solid vintage with a long harvest season, is a so-called vintage Champagne. It is based on grapes that were harvested and vinified in the aforementioned vintage. For this vintage bottling, equal parts of Pinot Noir and Cardonnay grapes from Grand Cru sites were used. It received its sparkling and finely bubbly bcarbonic acid through bottle fermentation. The Laurent-Perrier Brut Millésime was developed as a typical Brut Champagne with a low dosage of 8g/litre as a fine off-dry to dry. /p>
Laurent-Perrier
Laurent-Perrier is one of the best-known French sparkling wine producers from the Champagne region. Despite being listed on the stock exchange, it is still largely a family business. This house owes its success above all to one man, Bernard Nonancourt, one of the most important Champagne players. His aim was to achieve a higher and more daring style for the Laurent-Perrier champagnes, an elegant aperitif mood, and he achieved this by using ever greater proportions of Chardonnay. Therefore, to this day, you can recognise a champagne from the house of Laurent-Perrier by its complex character: citrus fruits, white fruits, notes of toast and cake – a wonderful combination of freshness and directness.
