Smell and appearance
A deep golden yellow shimmer and a delicate rim of foam are the first things that catch the eye in this fine champagne (0.75 litre), before a complex, intense bouquet of almonds, hazelnuts and toasted aromas presents itself on the nose. As the wine ages, nuances of honey and pine sap are added to this aroma.
Taste
On the palate, this Harmony Demi-sec is generous with a full-bodied flavour.
Production
For this champagne with 12% vol., the grape varieties Chardonnay (45%), Pinot Noir (40%) and Pinot Meunier (15%) were combined to form a distinctive blend. More than 55 crus go into this cuvée, and this champagne has one of the highest proportions of Chardonnay. A dosage of 40 g/litre allows it to mature into an excellent demi-sec. The dosage is added to the Harmonya in the form of a liqueur made from cane sugar and wine of the same vintage. This noble sparkling wine matures for three years before it is tasted.
Laurent-Perrier
The house of Laurent-Perrier is one of the most famous French sparkling wine producers from the Champagne region. Tradition and modernity, family business and stock exchange listing, go hand in hand. This has a lot to do with Bernard Nonancourt, who developed the style of this house, the Laurent-Perrier style, in the 1950s. He wanted to add an elegant aperitif mood to the champagnes of the house of Laurent-Perrier. He succeeded in this by adding ever greater proportions of Chardonnay to them. To this day, you can recognise a champagne from the house of Laurent-Perrier by its complex character: citrus fruits, aromas of white fruits, plus notes of toast and cake – a surprising combination of freshness and directness.
