Back in 1856, Monsieur Pommery just moved away from its wool business to take a well-deserved retirement when his wife miraculously became pregnant with their second child. The entrepreneur changed thus his plans to ensure a future to his little daughter. He decided to start trading wines, a blooming business at that time. His widow took over the reins of the company a year later, after the death of Monsieur Pommery.
