The Balvenie Caribbean Cask matures 14 years in oak barrels
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask matures for 14 years in American oak barrels, giving it a special complexity and full flavour. And after maturing in American barrels, The Balvenie undergoes a very special 14 year Caribbean Cask procedure. It is then bottled for a few more months in a disused Caribbean rum barrel. Thus The Balvenie 14 years Caribbean Cask draws further aromas, which round off the taste of the whisky.

Sugar cane, papaya and even coconut are discreetly noticeable. The smell is complemented by a hint of caramel that rises into your nose.
Flavour
Taste-wise, The Balvenie 14 years Caribbean Cask is very soft and sweet. Due to its creamy aroma, it is almost reminiscent of a high-quality rum, as here again tropical nuances of pineapple, mango and papaya are noticeable.
The dry and salty side of the single malt, which harmonizes wonderfully with the freshness, offers a harmonious balance.
All in all, The Balvenie 14 years Caribbean Cask is fruity, strong and balanced.
Finish
The Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask has a medium-long and warming finish. The oak, which in 14 years of ageing has secured itself a soft place in the taste, comes into its own once again. Vanilla tones are also noticeable once again. The highlight in the finish is a light banana aroma.
Serving suggestion
The Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask is best enjoyed pure, slightly diluted with a few drops of water. The water makes the Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask even wider in taste and the wooden barrel aroma comes into its own perfectly.
