Production
The idea for this special rum comes from the world-famous spirituous beverage company Bacardi: a few years ago he conceived the product line “Single Cane Estate Rum”, which means rum whose molasses or sugar cane comes from a location or plantation. Often, all production steps are even carried out by a single company or producer. Therefore, these Single Cane Estate Rums are the embodiment of the respective terroir and its producer, so to speak.
The sugarcane of this single estate rum comes from the plantation of the Worthy Park Estate. The Single Estate Reserve of the Rum Bar matured at 1,200 meters in once used American White Oak ex-Bourbon barrels for 6 to 10 years.
Aroma
His ageing in oak barrels reaches the nose as well as strong aromas of tobacco and spicy fruits like raisins and plums. From the background there are light notes of vanilla, which combine this spice with a little sweetness.
Flavor
On the palate, the soft texture of the Worthy Park Single Estate and the ester notes typical of Jamaican rums stand out. Here too, it is a pleasant and interesting blend of spice and fruit: dried fruit and banana are combined with slightly bitter tannins and rounded off with nutmeg. The finish is introduced by black pepper, which ends pleasantly dry with ginger.
Manufacturer
Worthy Park Estate is situated, surrounded by thousands of hectares of sugar cane, picturesquely in the heart of Jamaica in the Lluidas Valley. They are the basis for the rum that has been sold by the Rum-Bar brand since 2007. The current owners of Worthy Park Estate, the Clark family, decided in 2004 to re-enter the rum trade and produce a new line of high quality Jamaican rum from their home-grown sugar cane. Their rums have since received numerous awards. Among them are also some rum varieties (White Overproof and Gold), which are produced without any added sugar, flavours or similar.
